Excluding in the core mountains, temps do not differ considerably in the Dominican Republic, averaging a summery 81ºF (28ºC) to 87ºF (31ºC) in most places for much of the year. Tropical humidity can easily make the temps seem greater, though ocean breezes assist to mitigate the effect. The rainy season is actually May to October, though in Samana as well as on the north coast it may last till December. August and September compose tempest period.

The primary foreign tourist seasons are actually December to February and July to August and Semana Santa (the week prior to Easter). Count on greater fees and additional crowded beaches at these times
